She's Here!

I can almost hear the song "Sempurna" by Andra & The Back Bone back in my mind he...he..basically I am filled with elation upon hearing that my Mum is here in town! She's supposed to be here for her trip to Australia this weekend, but, never thought this soon. Apparently Khairi went back to Perak last weekend and bring her along ahead of schedule. No wonder I heard that my sis in Lenggong is unable to stop crying as she won't be able to see her before the departure...if the state of depression worsen, then, by all means she has to be here with us at the KLIA this Saturday...he..he...she's very attached to Mum...we all do...though I am sure I am the most 'kayu' among them...

Anyway, she's here and for that I'm very happy...Khairi is supposed to send her to my house tonight where she'll stay until the departure date. I've promised Ramzan to help her pack and ensure that the luggage is at minimum load, easy for her to carry. I've already confirmed with MAS today of the departure/arrival date...just to be sure. Departure time is okay, but looks like the outbound from Sydney to KLIA has been brought forward...1 hour earlier than the initial schedule, plus there's one stop at Brisbane. Ram might want to call MAS's Sydney office for other arrangement...if necessary. Just hope that she has a smooth journey (and Huda's Mum too) and enjoy the trip.

Teacher's Pet

Early morning on last Saturday, we had a meeting with Hisham's class teacher, Ms. Devi. The school had just finished their mid-term evaluation, so, the meeting was intended to discuss and update parents on the child's progress. Since, we both could'nt make it on weekdays...we specifically asked for a meeting on Saturday. However, we have to be there at 8.00 a.m sharp as she got to attend to tuition class after the meeting.

Generally, according to the teacher, Hisham is progressing well. He can understand instructions and respond well. The teacher also mentioned that he's quite polite, always responding with something like yes, teacher...ok, teacher....But the teacher also told us that he always been bullied by other boys. The teacher assured us that it is not kind of serious bully, ...it's just part of the child game...Although he's quite big compared to his classmates...he's rather soft and 'manja'...more the reason for that bullying...Furthermore, he likes to bring his power rangers colouring books & sticker to school...I've always takes them out whenever I do the spot check before he went to school, but sometimes even the tough security failed...he..he...so, whenever he got that things with him, the boys will try to take from him. Said teacher Devi, whenever the boys tried to bully him...he'll get into his temper. By the time he's in his moody mode, it gets very difficult for the teacher to handle him...(at this point, I grinned at my husband...:))

The teacher also showed us his colouring/arts activity. She said that she really admired the way Hisham do the drawing and coloring. "He always know where to shade, what color to use and he don't simply use one color...he always gets the right mix. I think he's very talented in this. May be you should send him to the drawing class". Yes, I do noticed that...that's why it did'nt surprised me to hear such comment. I also can draw...but I've never had any formal lesson on drawing...plus, I did not get much encouragement on that...so, it's been years since I left my secondary school...I concluded that I no longer have that now...so, for Hisham...I think I'll do something about it.

I also raised my concerned on his writing whereby he sometimes write 'b' as 'd' or the other way around. Some alphabets and numbers too...especially small letters. Teacher Devi quickly dismissed my concerns saying that it is quite common among the children. They'll soon overcome it...don't worry! I'm quite surprised that he got 95/100 for his Bahasa...The rest are just ok. Math for example, he's just pass...but most of the mistakes he made was due to being careless...upside down numbers and not following instruction...but then, you should see the standard the school use...goshhhh...

As a mother, my priority is to see that my son able to mixed well into the society with his own personality. I want him to have various perspectives and at the same time stick to his own. He should be able to adapt to the environment...and take control of it...not the other way around. Most of all I want him to have good understanding of what life is about, what's important and what's not...and know the objectives well. Paper qualifications are just the tools to enhance career path...I won't tell him what to be but I'll guide him to be the best he could in whatever he decided to be later on. Insyaallah.

Lunch@Madam Kwan's KLCC

Hari yang ceria...sehari lepas gaji pulak tu...he..he..he..Memula ingat nak pergi Madam Kwan's Mid Valley. So, ikut plan jam 12.30 tengahari berjumpa kat sanalah.

Dari office, kami berempat (aku, sirapmadu, usj & Lotus_Lily (he..he...he..)) naik LRT dari stesen Kerinchi ke KLCC. Seronok juga naik LRT ni yer...lama gak la tak naik menatang ulat bulu ni, rindu pun ada jugak...terkenang zaman dolu-dolu. Aku dengan SirapMadu siap beli tiket RM10 lagi...yang boleh refill balik tu la...pegi balik baru RM4.00 so, baki lagi RM6 tu bolehlah guna next week bila tiba time Usj kat Sooka Sentral pulak...har...har...har....(berpandangan jauh tu...).

Restoran Madam Kwan's KLCC ni terletak di aras 4 (Ramlee Mall), tak jauh dari Galeri Petronas tu...Masa sampai tu...uishhh...ramainya orang. Aku lak tak buat reservation...ingatkan boleh main walk-in jer. Agaknya sebab Jumaat orang keluar awal kot...lagipun kan ker baru lepas dapat gaji...so, tu yang berduyun orang tu. Kami terpaksa tunggu lebih kurang 15 minit sebelum diberikan meja 6 kerusi.

Restoren ni menghidangkan pelbagai jenis masakan yang enak-enak...paling famous Nasi Bojari...nasi lemak, char kuey teow dia pun sedapppp. Pendek kata sedap-sedap belaka lah, so far dah try ketiga-tiga branch ni, kualiti maintain jer.

Seperti biasa anggota majlis tetap program-program luar pejabat...he..he...ni kira cara kitaorang bersosial lah ni...rehat-rehatkan minda, hibur-hiburkan hati...terapi yang berkesan tau!

Tiga lagi...

Benda yang sama...tapi lagi clear kot rupa parasnya he...he...jumpa kat blog mana tah tak ingat....huhu...very sinful nyer dessert....

Apa lagi kalau bukan "Assam Laksa".

Rasa dia...oh tidakkkk...memang sekali makan tak boleh lupa punya...he..he...dasar hantu laksa!

Kesimpulannya, memang puas hatilah makan kat sini. Harap geng semua pun puas hati dengan pilihan aku ni...(walaupun korang memanglah dah tahu muslihat aku nak makan kat sini adalah disebabkan oleh laksa itewwww...sabor jer lahhhh...). Ok, kita teruskan dengan pusingan seterusnya minggu depan ekkkk....

Berita Ikan

Sekian, laporan berita terkini jam 10.20 pagi.

The Drama

In the midst of the shocking development of the Mongolian's murder case, I've come across this poem by caravanserai, a blogger who's participated in the discussion posted on Mr. Rockybru's blog...

The sleeping beauty wakes
So many things on his plate
How can he understand?
When his mind is thousand and one nights

The only recourse
He will say he doesn’t know
Unless he dares to make his own SD
RPK put his neck on the chopping block
Has the sleeping beauty done it?

The weaves of deception
Across the board a chess game playing
Who dares to exchange it?
The knight and the queen

The dark tower rings
The echo into the night
The susurrus whisper
Nothing is right

Many backroom maneuvers
Casting different light to hide
The shadows walk behind walls
Furtively eyes peeping the fall
The gallant knight and the black castle

The aggrieved party hoping for closure
Let the truth be told for the people
The ringing bell toll for the disadvantaged
For the light will surely shine in the darkness

The gallant knight and the black castle
On the threshold he knows his truth
Dare to fight for rights of the disadvantaged
For he knows Kah Moon Thing waits

This is the chess game
He doesn’t want to lose
At this highest stage of the moves
The gallant knight throws his spear
Into the dark shadow
A lonely crying then silence falls
He waits for the dawn……….cleansing him free

Positive Thinking

Not sure what to write actually. I'm in the midst of preparing a paper which is supposed to be submitted to the Minister early July. I am contributing a chapter to be specific, since I'm the owner of that particular matter - but honestly, I am still not getting the 'feel' at working on the overall presentation. I think the linkages need to be further discussed...may be better coordination, if I may suggest.Humpphhh...!

Anyway, a colleague just forwarded to me a very nice presentation...you know...sort of motivational kind of wordings! Here's some of the wordings...I know, it's nice to read, easy to say...nevertheless no harm noting down something inspirational, huh...

Don't compare yourself with anyone in this world, if you compare, you are insulting yourself (oppsss...I've done it most of the times he...he...he....)

No one will manufacture a lock without a key. Similarly Allah won't give problems without solutions (be patient...patient..patient...)

No one can go back and change a bad beginning. But anyone can start now and create a successful ending (come to think of it, even if I can go back to the past...I don't think I want to change what I've already have today...without my past, I won't be like I am today...and with all the pros/cons...I like what I am today, alhamdulillah...and look forward to be a better one..insyaallah)

Ikan Oh Ikan...(Berita Terkini)

Wahhhh...pagi-pagi dah tambah list kerja la pulak kena tengokkan ikan-ikan itu. Sekali aku jengah balang tu...aisey, ikan emas tu dah terapung daaaa...mulut pun katup jer. Confirm dah gone!

Nak tak nak kena la cuci balang lagi...gold fish yang satu lagi cergas. Yang lagi empat ekor yang kecil-kecil tu, so far tak der masalah.Nampak ligat dan aktif. Next time aku letak puyu jer lah...tak pun ikan bandaraya...panjang sket hayatnya...he..he...Hisham cepat jer bangun dengar ikan dia dah mati. Cakap kat dia, "Bagi ibu yer, ibu buang. Ikan dah mati nanti keluar ulat...busuk!!!". Barulah dia lepaskan plastik tu.

Hemmm...tak tahulah yang the rest tu boleh bertahan lama mana....jangan-jangan everyday aku kena update sekoq-sekoq...jadi cam column obituary la pulak...:)

What's Cooking?

Petang Sabtu itu hari teringin pulak nak makan sago gula melaka. Rasanya pernah dengar nama kuih ni, tapi tak pernah cuba. Tak teringin nak cuba. Tapi masa pergi makan dengan Kak Zaini kat Madam Kwan's dulu, dia yang perkenalkan. Sekali cuba, fullamakkk sedap wooo. So, last week dah siap cari la bahan-bahannya, tunggu masa nak buat jer.

Actually senang jer nak buat. Masakkan sago.

Dah nak makan tu, pandai-pandailah campur gaul ikut citarasa masing-masing...nak kurang manis, kurangkan air gula...nak lebih manis, campurkanlah ikut sukatan sesedap rasa. Macam inilah rupanya..nyum...nyum....

Jadi, bila pasangan pengantin baru Khairi dan Shafikah datang berkunjung tengahari tadi, dapatlah diaorang merasa sago gula melaka ni. Diaorang datang bawak gambar-gambar majlis perkahwinan tempohari. Sedaplah mata memandang hasil kerja jurugambar professional. Masa diaorang datang, aku buat spaghetti. Bahan-bahan pun dah ada...so, belasah ajerlah. Masak guna spaghetti jenis Angel Hair...kejap ajer dah lembut. Guna sos siap sedia Prego aje...pas tu pakai tuna meat (in water)...emmmm...sedappppp! Aiman makan 1 pinggan, lepas tu cakap, "one more"...

Khairi dan Pikah tak tunggu pun makan nasi. Sebelum Zohor tu diaorang dah minta diri. Aku pun tak makan nasi dah, dah kenyang makan spaghetti. Cuma lelaki Melayu terakhir kat rumah tu ajer yang waima apa sekalipun, tengahari mesti makan nasi...he...he...he...so, masak la juga. Buat daging black pepper.

Petang tengok satu ikan emas sudah buat renang ala kuak lentang. Hisham cakap , "Ibu, fish tido". Yelah tu...mata dia pun dah terkelip-kelip bagai. Nazak kot! Tengok air cam kelabu jer, so, cepat-cepat aku tukarkan. Dah tukar tu, ikan tu macam dah pulih sket. Menjelang malam dah cergas cam biasa. Tapi...air tu macam cepat jer tukar warna...heeemmmmm...Tengoklah camana nasibnya esok hari....

Ikan Oh Ikan

Tengahari Sabtu tu, kami singgah kat kedai akuarium tak jauh dari rumah mertua aku. Memula ingat nak survey saja, tapi bila dah dok belek-belek aneka jenis ikan dan pilihan jenis balang ikan yang ada...kitaorang decided to straight away buy. Anyway, we've told the tauke that we wanted this simple and easy. Yelah, first time nak bela ikan, tak nak la terus gi grand scale gitu...jadi tauke tu cadangkan just beli balang without oksigen...I mean, tak adalah peralatan yang kuar buih-buih gitu cam normal akaurium. Balang pun jenis plastik jer. But we must have the coral stones. Enam ekor ikan tu harganya RM16. Total investment for this is RM39. Okay la kan...

So bila balik tu, apa lagi suka tak hengat la bebudak tu.

Kesian ikan-ikan tu sure pening ..he..he...kejap-kejap balang tu kena ketuk, kena goyang...aku ingat kalau hayat ikan-ikan tu boleh tahan seminggu pun dah cukup baik tu...he..he...he...

Lunch@Seoul Bulgogi

Life is great when you're surrounded by great people...he..he..he...
This posting is specially dedicated to Friday's luncheon, courtesy of fellow colleague, Rosebud. Thank you...thank you...thank you for stepping in when the initial plan went 'kaput' :)

This time we went to a nearby steambot style restaurant called Seoul Bulgogi. Heard that it is quite famous...and the Jalan-jalan Cari Makan tv program already been here. Since it is located at Plaza Pantai, which is just few metres away from our office, we all just walked there.

Here's the spread of available selection. Marinated fish, chicken, beef, prawn...

And the yong tau foo style seafood balls of various flavour and shape...

We opted for 'tom yam' soup to boiled our seafood and veggie. There's rice, rice noodles and eggs too apart from dessert like ice cream and ABC. Here's how we cook the food. Very tasty!

Everybody enjoyed the meal.

This was what I had initially, use my creativity to produce a bowl of 'mee seafood tom yam"...he..he...yes, just a small bowl (followed by many many more small bowl...he..he...he..).

It was another great ladies get together session. Really enjoyed myself there. Thanks again Rosebud.

Meowww...

Since last week, Hisham has been quite persistent at wanting a pet. I think this must have something to do with the activity he had at school. Furthermore, there's one reading item that talked about having a pet in his workbook. So, he keep on saying something like, "Mummy, Dina has a pet...Evan has a pet...everybody has pet...I don't have a pet. Mummy, I want a pet!

My choice of pet would definitely be a cat. To me, cat is a wonderful pet. May be because I used to have 4-5 cats in the house during my childhood. They even sleept with me...he...he...so cute the way they cuddled around me to share the warmth and comfort at night.

There is one stray cat currently at my MIL house, but of course, it only stays outside. It's a Siamese cat, but I think he's quite old and probably not really well. It does'nt look healthy. Hisham wanted to bring him back with us, but I could'nt agree because it's difficult to have a cat under the roof now. Unless the house is directly attached to a piece of land like our Rawang home, then, it might be acceptable. Currently, I have to say no. So, he asked for a fish instead. We're still pondering on it...but, I think it will do good for the boys to have a pet. We'll see.

Here's some cat's photos I found on the web.

Cute nyaaaa!!! gerammmmmmm....

The Mission Possible

Last night I was forced to embark on a 'secret' mission. Secret because I was kept in the dark of what's happening initially. I sort of know what was actually happen, but since there was no confession made, I kind of just play along.

It was about 9 p.m and the kids were already in their pyjamas. I took them with me and drove to my MIL house just to found out she was'nt there. The door was locked. Then, I remember being told that she wanted to go to the surau that night for some reason. It was like being one of the Angels with the Boss on the line...he...he..."Okay, now you have to drive to the surau..call me once you're there, roger and out"...but heyyy...I was'nt familiar with that area...the small madrasah was just few metres away from the main road, but at night, you sometimes unsure which turning to take and when...gosh!

So, I did miss that turning, and have to turn around. The road was just been tarred, there's no marked white lane to indicate the two ways boundary, and it was pitched dark...aiyaaaa...what's a mixture! Okay, then, I somehow managed to drive and parked the car outside the surau. It was 9.20, and tell you what, everything so quiet as if everybody went home already. As the kids with me, I dare not leave them behind and sneak out to ask anyone I met, I think the 'tok siak' would still be around. I called my 'boss' and told him about the situation and he directed me to go back to the mum's house and waited there.

I waited for about 15 mins and luckily my brother in law came from work. He's the one I should see instead of my MIL because he got the 'key'. Never thought of meeting him there as normally his shift finished sometimes after midnight. Guessed I'm just lucky!
He asked me, what happen? I just shrugged. My 'boss' called again. "Where are you?". "Okay, I got the key". I replied back. "What's next?". "Come to my office. I'll wait at the bus stop in front of the building". "You lost the key, right?". Got ya! Still, no confession.

So, I drove to his office. I did'nt know that there's more crazy, stupid drivers roaming about at night compared to daylight. They did crazy zig zag here and there just to be ahead...I think they're racing to the grave! As it happened, my tongue get loose easily and the nice, nice words came out...he...he...At my more that once "stupid driver!" remark, my eldest son suddenly interrupted..."Mummy, teacher Irene says "stupid driver' too". Opppsss...Irene is his teacher cum driver who drive him to and from school. "She did?" Alamak! Mummy and teacher were both in the same league now...Then he said in bahasa, "Ibu, ibu , awak tak boleh cakap bodoh tau ibu...nanti Tuhan marah awak,". Then, the Mum slowly replied, " Okay. I'm sorry. Tak boleh cakap bodoh lagi, ye.". And I was biting my lips all the way to my husband's office.

My mission ended there. It turned out that hubby could not find the bike's key. Probably misplaced it somewhere...his Modenas bike is currently at home as there's some problem with it. While waiting to fix that problem, his brother loan him another bike for this whole week. That is why I have to go to my MIL's house to get the spare key. But the journey were quite interesting, apart from that little conversation I had with Hisham of course, as it was the first time they saw KL at night...with all the running lights, colors...fascinating, huh? Btw, I just could'nt refrained myself from saying this to my husband, " Imagine if it was me...losing the key...instead of you,". He grinned and without hesitation replied back, "Siap awak!!!". Man!!!

International Relation

The government of Malaysia finally has got some sense in dealing with the Suffiah issue. According to the news today, it has given up the 'save' Suffiah campaign due to some difficulties. Suffiah, the once well known child prodigy who gained world attention as she was accepted to continue studies at Oxford at a very young age is now supporting herself by being a sex worker. (Of course, her being a hooker-quickly become an item as compared to her as a genius...(Malaysian are generally quite good at web searching, :) )

It did sparked some debates several months ago when the Government suddenly announced several measures to 'save' her. On what basis? Well...er, her mom is a Malaysian, right? It was like, "hey, yaa...we should go to London and visit her. Let's talked some sense into her and bring her back,". And those in disagreement shouted back, "Can somebody pls come up with a plan to save our local women stranded in the back alleys of Chow Kit, Bukit Bintang etc...etc...etc...? Next time you wanna interfere into somebody's else matter, pls make sure yours is well taken care of. (Kain sendiri pun koyak, sendiri mau ingat laaa...). After all, Suffiah is a big girl now...as someone gifted with a very bright brain, I'm surprised that she did'nt use it for other good things than calculating easy money. There might be some dark moment of her past, the upbringing, the family abuses & problems and all...but then, as a grown up...she have and she can decide for herself...what is it that she want to do with her life?

I also heard that there's another case of Malaysian women been tricked into being drug trafficker. There's so many cases so far I've already lost count. But the recent one was arrested few days ago at East Midlands Airport, UK as she was detected carrying drugs in secret compartment of her luggage. She was just coming back from a sponsored vacation by her boyfriends' friend in Gambia. Gosh? Vacation in Gambia? That's how easy to cheat Malaysia women nowadays!

Seminar@Klana Resort, Seremban

As mentioned in the previous entry, I attended 2 days seminar on USP Technology at Klana Resort, Seremban (12-13 June). The objective of the seminar is to understand the technology characteristic and recommend the best solution to bridge the digital divide between the 'have' and 'have-not'.

This is my first time driving outside KL. Both in and out journey were smooth. No problem at all finding the place though I must admitted that I missed the entrance road twice and had to go round and round for few minutes. This is also my frist time staying at Klana Resort (formerly known as Allson Klana Resort). I was supposed to check myself into the neighbouring hotel, the Royale Bintang. But since the event venue was at Klana Resort, we (there's 4 in 'my team')tried our best to find available room at the same hotel. It was fully booked, but we were told that we could have the room only after 4 o'clock. So, we waited and managed to secure one each.

I got room no. 808. But I'm not as lucky as the number indicated. The room's air-cond was not working properly. On the first day, the session was extended up to 10.30 p.m. So, by the time I reached my room, I was too tired to complaint. Our room was on a 2 storey separated building located close to the swimming pool.

Here's the main building from my room.

The big, nice swimming pool just outside my room. Picture taken after we managed to check-in during afternoon coffee break.

Another angle of the swimming pool. I think this is the perfect place for family vacation.Other than the big pool, there's big playground somewhere near the entrance. The room rate was RM160++ (breackfast included). The hotel is also quite famous for teambuilding activities. Parking spaces are ample and it's just few minutes to the Seremban town. (wahhh...I'm giving free advertising here....).

I saw few heliconias hanging along the corridor leading towards my room but I've no time to stop and take further pics. Kind of regretting it now. The inside of the room is just okay. Don't expect extra comfort...since I'm here just to sleep - no problem at all. There's no complimentary drinking water. The shower gel and shampoo seem of old stocks (leftover from Allson Klana era). (There goes the free ad...he..he...he..).

Oh...this is also the first time ever I've seen a lizard crawling on the wall of a hotel room...he..he...very eco-friendly!

Last Entry For The Week

Yup...this will be the last entry for this week. I won't be in the office tomorrow and the day after as I'll be attending the USP Technology Seminar at Klana Resort, Seremban. You see someone suggested that in order to be prudent during these testing time of price hike...we should try to avoid increase in our household bills (water, electricity)...therefore, if possible, personal blogging should be done at office..:)
Since, I will not be in the office, you guys have to wait till Monday to read the latest posts, okay??? (Just kidding!)

Anyway, our dear sweet SirapMadu has just gave the photos that we've taken during our sponsored lunch at Rebung recently. Sorry coz you can only sighted the empty bowls of 'bubur pulut hitam'...and my "ABC"...you see, it's not nice to trigger the crave for those delicious Malaysian dishes especially to those currently living outside the country, kan..kan..kan..:)

These pics were taken using SirapMadu's Sony Ericsson HP...there's a glass behind us, so the reflection of light kind of contributing to the overall quality of the pics. Nevertheless, it's good to have something to remind us of the laughters that we shared during the lunch. The ladies here are all my good friends within the division and also part of the daily breakfast/lunch group..except for one who also belongs to the 3 times a week aerobic class here...he...he...he...

Ram & Huda

Inilah wajah ceria pasangan pengantin yang sedang diajar berposing di hari persandingan mereka...he..he...he...

Mak dan ayah Huda meraikan pasangan pengantin di meja santapan...he..he...cam biasa mak ayah aku tak kelihatan, almaklumlah tuan rumah ni sibuk melayan tetamu lagipun time nie belum pandai panggil caterer lagi. Tapi hidangan pengantin memang ditempah.

Pengantin di meja santapan. Julita Aishah (anak sedara) dah enterframe! Kek tu sedapnya...tapi makan cuma sepotong jer sebab dah kenyang...dan base bawah yang besar tu seingat aku dikenduri beramai-ramai dek budak band pada malam harinya...huhuhu...

Adik-adik mesti hormat sama kakak...tu pasal semestinya kakak berdiri kat tengah...he...he...he...

Depan khemah makan. Sian depa nie kena dera berposing tengah panas terik...berpeluh-peluh masa tu...tak bleh nak touch up lebih-lebih kan, Huda

Rasanya gambor yang ni la Ram tak puas hati ...he..he...sepatutnya pengantin lama mengapit pengantin baru...ini terbalik...he...he...apasalahnya...lagipun mesti kena hormat senior tau!

Bergambor dengan Huda. Habislah semua yang lalu-lalang terpesona tengok aku eh..bukan...bukan..pengantin pompuan daaa pasal pakai gaun kembang cam cinderella...he...he...

So, harap entry petang Selasa ni menceriakan Ram & Huda kat sana.

Mengantuk Punya Pasal...

It was raining heavily on my way to office this morning. So it did'nt surprise me when it took longer for me to reach jalan Bangsar. But it did surprise me as it was clear like crystal once I reach Jalan Bangsar...because of that, I still managed to be in the office 5 minutes before 8.

Dia ingatkan kereta dia, sampai berbunyi alarm kereta tu dibuatnya. Last-last found out itu rupanya kereta ketua Guard kat situ...ha...ha...ha...lawak...lawak...

Bercakap pasal mengantuk punya pasal, I have my own experience, memang tak bleh lupa. Masa tu tahun pertama kat UUM, kelas Organizational Behavior. Kelas tu lecturer dia tough ala-ala mamak. Misai jambang sume memang menakutkan la. And was one of the well-known 'killer' lecturer around. Biasalah, masa registration pilih kelas selalunya kelas-kelas yang pensyarahnya agak lenient mesti dah sold out...by the time aku register, tinggal pensyarah2 yang digeruni ajer....aku pulak tahap konfiden terlebih, so, main taram saja.

Alkisahnya kelas lecturer ni bermula jam 2 petang sampai 4. Prime time sungguh! Masa tu pulak aku di ambang memakai cermin mata...dulu tak tau, apsal lah kelabu benor tulisan kat transparency tu...selalu tengok nota orang sebelah...yelah, tak tahu pulak mata nie dah tak berapa okay. Jadi macam biasa, bila dah boring tengok tulisan tak jelas tu, mulalah menyandar...sekali sandar eh...sedap pulakkk...keh...keh...pass tu suara lecturer pun cam sayup-sayup jer...tapi wa punya aksi tak der la over...kat belakang tu ramai yang menelungkup terus, almaklumlah dewan kuliah subject teras selalunya besorr. Kira macam duduk tegak ler, cuma mata tu sekejap tutup sekejap bukaklah.

Sekali kan, lecturer tu start menyindir. Adusss! Pedihnya!

Lepas peristiwa tu aku jumpa lecturer ni minta maaf. Malah masa dia handover kelas tu ke lecturer lain bila dia further study kat oversea, dia dah tolong ensure that I've got enough carry mark to final( dengan cara yang betullahhh)...he...he...kiranya baiklah lecturer ni dengan aku padahal semua orang pun tahu aku paling payah nak jumpa lecturer, lekatlah consultation hour apa ker...dah sah-sah aku tak pi...unless kalau dah betul ada masalah.

Itulah padahnya "Mengantuk punya pasal"...tapi it turned out to be a blessing in my case. Sampai sekarang kalau teringat sure gelak!

Fenin-Fenin Lalat...

Fenin! Fenin! Macamana ana rasa fenin?

Maka, tetiba kita pun muncul jadi contact point. Di tolak ke tengah. Tup tap tup tap along the way, ada salah faham kat mana-mana...kita yang jadi 'pak sanggup' ni lah yang dok bersilat gayung kat tengah gelanggang...yang tak best tu orang kaitkan nama kita plak, padahal kita nyer peranan cuma disuruh jadi pemudahcara...huhuhu.....

So, pengajaran hari ini ialah...if you want to get involved, jangan sipi-sipi saja...make sure you're in the loop..from head to toe...kalau tak leh, get all the necessary backups...but once involved, don't retreat! Mesti tunjuk muka juga...maruah kena jaga maaaaa...

Belek-Belek

Pagi-pagi lagi dah update blog...he...he...semalam dok browse gambo-gambo kat laptop tu...rasanya kena berlaku adil to someone lah...dah select few Ramzan's wedding pics...nak kena have one belated entry dedicated for the couple..he..he...tungguuuuuu...

Btw, I've added some of my previous convo pics as well under the related post.

In Our Own World

I was pretty busy last Friday, seeing last minute arrangement for a seminar next week. Should'nt be a problem...but there's miscommunication...so, got to sort that out. Anyway, I need to wait the outcome on Monday...can't do much except to wait for further direction.

Since the hike in the fuel price, we've yet to experience the aftermath...we've not gone out for shopping...nor refilling the cars' tank...not yet!But from the news, looks like the people is not happy. Almost every goods/services have new higher price than before...how scary! My husband is'nt well these past two days...so, things a bit slow around here. Except for the kids, who's just playful as usual.

Can't believe that I spent my time watching the Ultra heroes movies...he...he...like rekindle the childhood time. Oh...but these ultra heroes are from the new generation, at my time...the human form name is Go...don't remember what is his Ultraman's name..he..he...On Friday evening, me and my kids watched "Ultraman Gaia : Battle in the Hyper Space". And today, we watched "Ultraman Tiga : The Final Odyssey". Tomorrow...according to the schedule, the latest movie - "Ultraman Mebius & Ultraman Brothers" will be aired by the same channel, Astro Ceria. We've seen that movie before from CD.

Sponsored Lunch @ Rebung

I deliberately eat as minimal as possible this morning, just to make sure that I'll benefit from today's free lunch....ha...ha...No...no...nothing to do with that petrol price, I am not that desperate!

Thank you...thank you...thank you to my fellow blogger, SirapMadu who's cubicle is just next to me. The reason for such belanja...hemmm...that's a secret he...he...Well, it should be according to the alphabet...so, the next lunch is on me. However, no specific date yet.

The restaurant, "Rebung" is in Bangsar, somewhere near TM Bangsar exchange. It belongs to celebrities - Chef Ismail and his business partner, Dr. SMS (the so called first Malaysian astronout). They served kampung style dishes...so delicious! I started with the must have - laksa (what else??), then followed by rice with some dishes - tempe goreng sambal, bergedil, rendang ayam, sambal tumis telur itik. Then, I had two very soft rolls of popiah basah...very delicious! A bowl of ABC for dessert...followed by sago gula melaka and lompat tikam...aiyooohhhhh....but of course, only small portion of each of them...

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious buffet lunch at reasonable price.

Up, up and up again

I was driving along Jalan Sentul yesterday on my way to pick up the kids when I noticed long queues at all petrol station. Sure, it did alarm me! Why, I've just heard the rumours of the price increase just this afternoon when my Hubby called to ask whether us at TM knew about it. The news spread rampantly at his office. I quickly brush it off saying that it was earlier reported that the review will only be implemented in August. So, when I saw the hectic at all petrol station, I rang him up. Unable to leave the office at such time, he asked me to monitor the situation.

It was such an upset for me when the prime time news confirmed on the price increase. Apparently, there was a press conference in the evening where PM announced the new prices for petrol and diesel. All our cars currently at 3/4 full...so, by the time hubby came home around 10 p.m, he was too tired to go out and join the 'fiesta'. But he was fuming at the government decision. Surely there's other means to mitigate the impact...yes, we're talking about the impact on us the poor rakyat...not those fews at the top! Imagine the domino effects due to the increase? My son's teacher who provide him the daily transportation to/from school already told us that she'll charge us an extra RM10 for the fee. There'll be more and more to come...

According to the NST, the price for petrol is now at RM2.70 per litre compared to the previous RM1.92 (41% increase) while for diesel the price is now at RM2.58, a 63% increase from the previous RM1.58 per litre. Pak Lah was quoted saying, " We cannot keep subsidising at the current rate. We must reduce wastage. If we can change our lifestyles, we will not suffer a terrible situation". Helloooo...what do you mean "our" lifestyle, huh? How else can I change my lifestyles? Since day one we've been practising prudent spending...where else to 'jimat', weh??? Kena naik basikal la pulak kot!!!

Some of the highlights about the new scheme as reported by the NST
1. 30 sen subsidy for petrol and diesel
2. Automatic monthly adjustment in line with global prices
3. Annual cash rebate of RM625 for owners of private vehicles with an engine capacity of up to 2,000cc and pick-up trucks and jeeps up to 2,500cc.
4. Annual cash rebate of RM150 for owners of motorcycles with a 250cc engine or less
5. Road tax discount of RM200 for owners of private vehicles with engine capacities above 2,000cc
6. RM50 road tax discount for motorcycles with engines above 250cc
7. Fishermen, boat owners and transport operators will get diesel at RM1.43 per litre
8. Each Malaysian fishing vessel owner will receive RM200 monthly
9. Fishing vessel owners will get incentive of 10sen for every kg of catch landed.

Note : Cash rebates will be given to the owners of the cars and motorcycles when they renew their road tax.

Oh btw, the electricity tariffs will be up too...huhuhu...the new price will be implemented come July. It says that there will be no change for users of 200 kilowatt hour per month or RM43.60 or less. (which directly implied that our household will have to brace another impact).

On The Day...

Terasa berbeza bila dah buat kenduri pakai caterer ni, kalau tak tuan rumah subuh-subuh buta dah kelam-kabut kat dapur sediakan makan-minum para petugas (dikenali sebagai mentara). Jadi pagi Ahad, 1 hb Jun 2008 tu, kitaorang adik-beradik boleh jalan lenggang-lenggok tak yah nak rush...he..he...

Kontrak mencuci pinggan mangkuk pun masih terbuka...so, terasa lagilah kemeriahan suasana kenduri stail kampung ni.

Aku dan Ziha sempat berposing kat bawah khemah nie...masa ni belum ramai orang lagi. Seronok jugaklah dok mengusik Ziha ni...cepatlah Ziha bila lagi aku nak merasa nasik minyak ko ni...dapatlah jugak aku round Kota Bharu...he...he....kalau tak de calon lagi aku boleh carikan...ewah...ewah....memandai jer laaaa...

Ni pulak Ziha dengan adiknya, Ema. Terima kasihlah sudi datang memeriahkan majlis ni. Memang sangat-sangat menghargai. Semoga cepat sampai jodoh...eiii...sempat lagi tu.

Dari jalan besar ni, nak ke rumah aku less than 50 metres. Bangunan kat depan tu ialah Pusat internet Desa...masa sebelah pagi tu ada sekumpulan geng rakan muda dok praktis silat kat situ.

Orang mulai ramai sekitar jam 12, beginilah suasananya. Ni laluan nak ke rumah aku la. Depa mai nak bersalam ngan tuan rumah, mana ayah dok menyorok ni tak nampak lak. Biasalah, ayah aku ni pemalu orangnya, nak-nak bila salam orang hulur duit. Tu yang dia rasa semacam serba tak kena. Tak pe ayah, memang la cenggitu kebiasaannya, kalau ayah malu meh cek amik he..he...he...

Pengantin dah sampai sebelum zohor. Rombongan pengantin perempuan bermalam kat rumah cousin aku kat Parit Buntar. So, dekat ajerlah. Kali ini kedua mempelai mengenakan busana rona hijau.

Dengan iringan lagu alunan adik gue yang merupakan penyanyi tersohor kat kampung nie...he...he...maka pasangan pengantin pun berarak masuk ke rumah untuk bersanding atas pelamin la pulak.

Pengantin bergambar pulak bersama kaum keluarga sebelah pengantin perempuan.

Kaum keluarga aku yang ramai-ramai tu time nie semua sibuk melayan tetamu kat luar.

Tapi senang la tetamu mengecam kaum kerabat sebelah sini.

Ziha dan Ema pun sempat bergambar jugak. Ambil berkat!!! Adoiiiiii!!!

Manakala tetamu pun beransur-ansur reda, aku pun ambil peluang snap gambor ahli keluarga.

Myra ni anak angkat aku he...he...yelah, ada peranan sikit masa dok cari-carikan nama dia.

Suka sangat nama Humaira, so, mak dia pun amik letak kat belakang.

Yang si Aiman tu, time-time orang seronok tengok pengantin semua, time tu lah dia nak tidur. Nasib Abang temankan dia, bolehlah aku keluar mengikuti semua acara.

Haa...ni lagi satu latest addition to the big family. Just one week older than Myra. Anak kak Aniza.

Aiman takut nak pegang, tapi sangat teringin nak pegang. Jadi aku pegang dan letakkan kat pangku dia. Punyalah suka. Baru jer aku taruk nama Gogo, kucing nie dah hilang. Sekali ayah cakap ada misi kat kampung ni minta nak bela sebab dia suka kucing. Ayah aku terus bagi kebenaran ambil. So, mengamuklah cucu-cucu yang lain ni sebab diaorang ni semua memang suka kucing.

Lepas pukul 3 kitaorang dah boleh masuk rumah. Tapi bila sampai bab nak mengemas nie...umang aiii...banyak lak lauk pauk yang berlebihan. Oleh kerana ini first time kitaorang guna caterer, punyalah mak ayah tu risau takut tak cukup. Half way, minta tambah. Sudahlah tu, yang mak sedara aku dan sepupu yang pandai memasak tu masing-masing bawak lauk tambah...just in case, katanya. Last-last tak bermakan. So, bungkus-bungkus la agihkan dekat orang kampung. Pukul 9 mlm, ada konsert pulak kat tempat khemah makan tu...yelah geng band abang & adik ipar aku datang nak memeriahkan suasana. Tapi kitaorang anak-beranak nie cepat jer masuk tidur, actually paksa budak-budak nie tidur sebab diaorang sibuk nak kuar main malam-malam ni pasal cousin diaorang semua pun penuh kat khemah tu.

Tengah malam aku bangun intai keluar nampak budak-budak band ni dok makan kat ruang tengah rumah. By the time diaorang kuar, aku tak dapat lelap mata. Ingatkan nak kuar kejap jer buatkan susu Aiman. Sekali tengok Ana dok mengemas sorang-sorang...kesian plak. So, kitaorang terus bergabung tenaga mencuci dan mengelap sampai pukul 2 pagi.
Oh...penatnya....zzzzzzzzzz.
